Organizing a wedding may be difficult, especially when it comes to choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen, but one woman came up with the ideal way to decide who should be in each of those roles.
Alexandra Stamps, a teacher of fifth grade, did not think twice before asking her children to serve as her bridesmaids and groomsmen on the day of her wedding.
After nearly a year of dating, the elementary school teacher from Wichita, Kansas who teaches science and technology tied the knot with her fiance Mason McDowell in the month of July.
Mason, who teaches third grade, also wanted his students to participate in the great day that they were celebrating.

Not only did the pair invite their pupils to attend their wedding, but they also requested some of them to be bridesmaids and groomsmen in the wedding party.
In an interview with the Wichita Eagle, Alexandra stated that: “I love them and they’re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans.”
Alexandra took a video of the moment she asked her students and put it on TikTok. It quickly went viral, with over 19 million people watching it.

When she asked the students if they wanted to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen, they all answered “yes”.

Alexandra explained why she and her husband were asking their students: “We spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much.”
“And so I thought it would be kind of fun to include them in the festivities instead of just having them in the audience.”
Alexandra shared that she had gotten permission from the pupils’ parents before allowing them to participate in the activity, and that she had given the girls fake pearl necklaces and the males bright sunglasses as a token of her appreciation. After she had proposed to the pupils, each of them received a candy with a striped rainbow pattern.
What a beautiful idea to honor her pupils! I can’t even begin to fathom how thrilled this particular set of children must have been.
