One makeup artist and an Instagram celebrity decided to suggest a rather strange look to her followers- curly eyelashes!
Social media have been dictating beauty trends for a long time, and there is no doubt that they are perfect for displaying one’s creativity. Yet, while some of these new trends are absolutely worth trying, chic or lovely, original, and inspiring, others are strange and even shocking!
For instance, have you come across the curly eyelashes yet? One makeup artist and an Instagram celebrity, Sofie Peterson, decided to give this look a go!
Peterson likes to play with weird looks, and her followers have witnessed many bizarre looks and makeup trends posted on her account.
She would experiment a lot, and she uses everything from toothpicks to crayons and safety pins!
Sofie explains that she gets her inspiration from her growing up in a Danish suburb where little variety in makeup was seen.
Yet, more than a year ago, she posted one of her unusual ideas- curled eyelashes, and the post was shared with the caption: ‘puberty isn’t over’.
While most reactions were negative, some people actually liked it!
In an interview, Sofie explained:
“I want people to feel something when they see my beauty looks, whether it’s inspired or disgusted. I want to show emotions and tell stories and joke around. I like that my Instagram is a place that can contain different expressions.”
However, while much of her work is impressive, some posts literally shocked us!
Sofie adds:
“What I want people to feel after visiting my Instagram, is to be encouraged to just put whatever they want on their face and own it! Do whatever you want, you just have to feel awesome and be confident about it.”
