Sean Murray is now the longest-serving full-time actor on NCIS as Agent Timothy McGee, following Gibbs star Mark Harmon’s departure in season 19.
NCIS returned for its milestone 20th series on CBS which was marked with a crossover special with NCIS Hawaii. Agent Timothy McGee (played by Sean Murray) took more of a backseat in the event with Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) taking the lead in terms of the Washington team. But fans are about to see a lot more of McGee in season 20’s second episode, Daddy Issues.
From time to time, NCIS fans get more of an insight into the character’s personal lives and this time, it is McGee’s turn.
He is married to Delilah Fielding (Margo Harshman) who he shares five-year-old twins John and Morgan McGee with.
In the upcoming episode Daddy Issues, McGee is going to see his two worlds collide during an investigation.
The synopsis for the instalment reads: “McGee’s personal life and professional life intersect when a dad from his children’s school is linked to a break-in at a government storage bunker.” Is NCIS star Sean Murray a dad in real life?
NCIS actor Sean Murray is the proud father of two children, Cay Ryan and River Murray.
He shares them with his wife of 17 years Carrie James who he met at an event and married one year later in 2005.
James used to be a teacher but founded Business Relationship Alliance, which helps women network, build and flourish in their own companies, after their son River was born in 2010.
She is also the founder of Prestique Academy of Innovation and Technology, a school for students with exceptional needs. Their first child is daughter Cay Ryan who was born in 2007 and is now aged 15.
He often shares pictures of her on his social media, earlier this year showing that they went to a concert together.
Murray wrote: “System of a Down in LA a few weeks ago with my beautiful Cay… one of the best times of my life.
“Head banging for two hours with your child is one of those things you don’t get to do often.”
Their love of the same music isn’t the only passion that Murray shares with his daughter.
Cay wants to follow in her dad’s footsteps into the world of acting, having recently guest starred in an episode of NCIS.
She featured in the episode The Brat Pack as the teenage computer whizz Teagan Fields.
Cay’s character is thought of as a key suspect in a murder case and as the team’s computer expert, McGee and Teagan share multiple scenes together.
Murray has previously opened up about what it was like having his daughter on set.
He told Parade: “I didn’t realise how much I separate my immediate family and work.
“I didn’t realise I compartmentalise them a little bit in my brain.
“I had this moment of looking up, of us being in the squad room and looking up at the plasma, and my daughter is on the plasma.
“My brain is going, ‘What the hell is going on? There’s a weird melding of worlds going on.’”
