A 6 year-old boy from Florida has found himself becoming a viral sensation after a video was posted to social media showing him reciting one hundred Bible verses in ten minutes!
Little Jackson Holloway is the son of the minister at the Jay Church of Christ in Florida, so it’s safe to say that Christianity is a huge part of his life. Jackson spent all year working on memorizing the verses so that he could reach the Lads 2 Leaders Centurion of Scripture gold level. Roy Johnson, executive director of Lads to Leaders, explained just how special Jackson is.
“He’s not the youngest, but it is unusual for someone so young,” he said.
“That was one of the proudest moments,” said Jackson’s mother, Brittany Holloway. “We were both extremely proud.”
Jackson first started working with his father on memorizing the verses back in January, and he has been adding more and more verses since then. One of Jackson’s favorite verses that he memorized is Romans 3:23 “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
When Jackson began learning the verses, his dad promised him that he would pay him $1 for each one that he memorized. When he had reached $100, Jackson stunned his parents once again by revealing what he planned to do with it.
“I asked him if he was going to buy something with the money,” Brittany said. “He said, ‘No, I’m going to give it to my daddy to help him go to India. I want to support him on his trip.’”
Jackson’s father left a few days later with the money that his son had earned by memorizing the Bible verses. Check out Jackson’s recitation in the video below!
