Gucci’s “grass-stained” jeans from the Fall/Winter collection turn out to be as unpopular as the $870 trainers from last year
Gucci shocked fashion gurus with the autumn/winter collection. The brand offers worn-looking jeans and bloggers can’t reach an agreement. Go to their website and look for the Eco washed denim pants. They sell at £600. Oh, and they also have fresh grass stains around the knees. Sort of.
According to the brand’s spokesperson, their materials have received special treatment to provide the “grunge vibe” this winter.
The grass-stained jeans look bizarre. These are nothing like the ripped jeans we’re used to seeing each autumn. Most trendsetters don’t find anything attractive about these jeans. Would you really combine these with a check print shirt and loafers? That’s how they come on Gucci’s website.
Maybe you’d rather pair the stained jeans with a £700 Rib-knit wool oversize jumper with holes and frayed edges. No?
Designers believe the new jean will help connect our vintage dreams to contemporary fashion.
“Channelling the Fall Winter 2020 collection’s grunge vibe, this wide-leg denim pant is crafted from organic cotton specifically treated for a stained-like, distressed effect,” the jeans description reads.
“Gucci explores new takes on the cult fabric, reinterpreting it with different designs and washing techniques that blur the line between vintage and contemporary. All organic cotton leftovers from the cutting process for this product are then upcycled into new materials under the ‘Gucci Up’ program.

We got the jeans a year after the release of Gucci’s $870 distressed trainers. Seventies fashion? Really? The brand made headlines with the design, and let’s just say that fashionistas weren’t thrilled about having a pair of these.
